SUMMER 2015 RECAP

Despite the 80-90 degree weather we’ve been having here in DC, it definitely feels like summer is coming to an end. District5 is hard at work (can you really call it work when we have so much fun?) on new projects and repertoire, but before we start sharing what is coming up for the group this Fall, we wanted to share what each of us was up to this summer!

Laura K. definitely takes the cake when it comes to awesome summers. She was the most beautiful bride AND has already welcomed a new addition into her family: Bear!

Bear is adorable!!!

Eddie spent some serious quality time with his family this summer that included weddings, road trips and ropes courses! Did you know he is one of six siblings??

Alison had the awesome opportunity to perform at the International Double Reed Society Conference in Japan. When she wasn’t playing music by Yun and Ikebe with Andrew Nogal of Ensemble Dal Niente, she managed to fit in some sightseeing! This picture was taken outside of the Golden Pavilion in Kyoto.

Laura B. had fun all over in DC, Boston and Cape Cod playing horn and relaxing on the water. Check out the Lincoln Memorial viewed from the Potomac River and the beautiful sunset on Cape Cod!

I spent my summer playing clarinet and doing lots of hiking in the Adirondack Mountains of New York. This picture is taken on top of Mt. Marcy, the tallest mountain in New York state, and Andrew is kindly keeping my hat from blowing off my head!

Thanks for reading! Stay tuned for more posts :)
